If you would like to find out more about the sport of canoe slalom and have a go why not sign up for a Taster Session!

Learning the basics

The ideal age to start is 9 – 11. Sessions are usually run in the spring and dates advertised here when available.

Spaces often fill up quickly so please contact us early.

Taster Sessions take place at Stafford and Stone Canoe Club on the River Trent in Westbridge Park, Stone.

Always a smile

Adam Burgess joined the club at one of the taster sessions, since then he has gone on to represent the country an multiple races and fingers crossed the Olympics very soon. See his story here.

Canoe Slalom is not just for juniors as we have many adult paddlers who also train and compete in the national ranking system.

Those of a more advanced age who are already experienced, novices or even complete beginners would all be welcome.

Trying to keep up with the juniors

Even if competition is not your current focus, canoe slalom is a great all over body exercise to maintain flexibility and general well being.

All equipment required can be provided together with coaching support and the necessary safety cover during each club run session.
