The membership fees for 2012 are now due. The membership form can be found on the right hand side of this page. The membership form outlines this year’s subscription fees for all classes of membership.
The first instalment or full payment is due now, if the payment/ first instalment is not paid by 31st of January then the committee now has the facility to switch off your key fob which will limit access to the club house. Further instalment dates are outlined on the membership form.

Use and Care of Club Kit
30th October 2011 (updated 30th November 2011)
At present members who have paid their annual membership are entitled to borrow kit owned by the club, free of charge, as are non-members taking part in organised sessions.
As slalom kit is expensive (and not indestructible!) and current membership fees are relatively low, the follow conditions for use of the club kit must be adhered to:
1. Club members may borrow club boats/paddles and other kit during coached/supervised sessions at Stone. Kit may also be borrowed to take to other venues for training purposes, organised and attended by a club coach. All borrowed kit taken away from Stone must be signed out in the book available in the Club boat store and signed back in with any damage reported.
2. Kit may be borrowed by members up until they achieve promotion from Division 3 in any category, by which time they will be expected to have bought their own. Exceptions to this are trialling different classes of boat to that usually paddled, e.g. C1, C2.
3. Due to increased demand/limited kit and heavier use, adults members are expected to have bought their own boats/kit within 12 months of membership, irrespective of their division.
4. Anyone requiring kit for use on Stone outside of formal paddling sessions should request approval for use from a committee member or coach and arrange to borrow and return a key for the Club Boat Store, by prior arrangement. Members can also paddle independently, and use kit, whilst other coached sessions are taking place, but must be prepared to get off the water and return kit to enable the session coach to leave and lock up when they have finished their session.
5. As kit is limited, the newest members, and non-members taking part in organised sessions will have priority when demand exceeds supply.
6. Members wishing to take boats/paddles away from Stone for training or competition purposes, when a coach will not be formally leading the session, must gain prior approval from a committee member and sign the kit out in the book provided in the club store. Club boats/paddles are to be used ONLY on water of Division 3 standard and below (div 2/3 competitions are allowed). Kit must be signed back in and any damage reported to the committee.
7. Members using club kit must at all times ensure that they look after it as if it were their own, avoiding unnecessary damage and should not leave items unsupervised in places where they may be damaged/stolen.
8. Where damage or loss to club kit occurs, the committee will consider the circumstances and may pass on the full or part cost of repair or replacement to the individual responsible.
9. Any kit borrowed over a weekend MUST be returned by the following Monday lunchtime at the latest, as it may be required for coached sessions.
10. Should any member face unexpected circumstances, e.g. theft or serious damage to their own kit they may, at the committee’s discretion, be able to borrow club kit for a temporary period for training and competitions.
11. Any boats or equipment belonging to GB or Canoe England that is on loan to the club is subject to the same “Use and Care” conditions as club equipment. If these boats are required for use on sites deemed to be above Division 3 standard, authorisation can only be given by a GB or Canoe England coach. The Club’s committee or coaches do not carry this authority.
End of Season Training Programme (Adult)
17th August 2011
This schedule is for anyone who may be attending the senior sessions that take place on Tuesday or Thursday.
The session times are as follows: Tuesday - On water at 19.45, with sessions starting in earnest by 20.00. Thursday - On water at 20.00.
Pete Willet and Rob Holdway have devised a training plan up until the Cardiff Prem race on 18/19 June. Pete and Rob are not certain to be at all the sessions. In such a case find the appropriate session and set it up for yourself, they are hopefully self explanatory. I believe that Phil McDonagh and or Andy Neave will be available for the first couple of weeks to help out and get the sessions rolling. The sessions are indicative, if they need to be modified slightly, that's fine. Equally, if river levels of too low, the majority of the sessions (particularly the fitness ones) can be done on the canal.
Make sure you bring a watch for timing!
